In the app or web portal during setup, it prompts you to set your thresholds for temperature, battery, light, and humidity (gateway only)

When you receive your beacon and gateways, they will already be in the ‘setup devices’ category in your Surge Alert app or web portal.  All you have to do is set your customized beacon name and thresholds to register your beacon.

If you are an Android user, go to the google play store and search for Surge Alert. If you are an iPhone user, go to the app store and search for Surge Alert.

Through your app or online portal, you choose whether you want text alerts, email alerts, or both.  This way, you will immediately be alerted when your threshold ranges are exceeded.

You will receive an alert if the device does not respond in two hours

The lifespan of our batteries will depend on the location of your beacon.

Yes, like your beacon, the gateway has its own customizable thresholds. You will be alerted when these exceed, which is separate from your beacons, which will be in a separate location.

In order to get started, all you need is an Android or iPhone device, a Surge Alert Gateway, and our Surge Alert Beacon.

If the light on the gateway goes on, it means your battery is running low. To see if your gateway is working properly, check your Surge Alert app or web portal.

In addition to our wired Gateways, we also have solar-powered Gateways that will always stay charged in the sunlight! Our wired Gateways have a battery life of 7+ days when unplugged.

Very little maintenance is required. If the battery on your beacon dies, here is a quick tutorial on how to change your batteries with just a screwdriver.

Place your beacon within the unit you want to be monitored. Whether it’s a refrigerator, freezer, or larger storage room.

When setting up the Gateway it should be within 300 feet of the selected beacons

Your beacons may not connect to the gateway because it might be farther than the 300 feet range of the beacon. There is also a possibility that the gateway is not charged and needs to be plugged in.

Even if you have a refrigerator thermostat, you won’t know if the refrigerator is left open, there is a power outage, or if the air is released from a loose or broken refrigerator seal. Our solution will alert you if your ideal refrigeration conditions are compromised, giving you ample time to fix any of these problems BEFORE spoilage occurs and the product is wasted.
